I would like to refer to the newspaper article "Ni bilingüe ni enseñanza" from Javier Marías that our teacher has recommended.
It is well-know that teachers are afraid of being misunderstood by their students in a foreign language. There is a vast and astonishing absence of self-confidence with English language.
Honestly, I have very often wondered myself about the validity and effectiveness of the CLIL Program taught by non native English speakers.
However, after the conversation with our teacher and classmates my conception about CLIL has changed. I thought I should teach my students with an excellent English, I feel incapable to do it. We should not forget that as a CLIL teachers we should teach a content through a language, the most important aspect is the content.
It is believe that students learn better a new language through the content. At this point, I would like to recommend you this newspaper article that shows teacher's feeling before understand the authentic CLIL purpose. I was surprised by the harshness and criticism against the program.
To sum up, I would like to say that after our class conversation my self-confidence to be a CLIL teacher has increased.
